We have done our best to create a website that satisfies
our clients' needs. With that goal in mind, we have compiled a list
of frequently asked questions. If you do not find an answer to your
question here, contact us at (780) 662-DOGS (3647) or info@prairierosekennels.com.
[Q] What must I bring with my pet?
[A} A copy of your current vaccination records, any medications,
and their own food.
[Q] Can I bring toys and bedding?
[A] You are welcome to bring any items you feel will make your pet's
stay more comfortable. All items should be washable and no breakables.
All items should be clearly labelled. It is not necessary to bring
bedding as we have plenty of blankets and sheets that
we can provide at no additional cost for your pets comfort. Any
items are left at your own risk.
[Q] Should I bring my pet's food?
[A] You can provide your pet's regular food or you may also purchase
food from our line of Acana, Orijen or Legacy Pet Food. House
can also be provided for an additional charge at a daily rate.
[Q] Do I need to bring my pet's dishes?
[A] No. We provide stainless steel dishes during their stay.
[Q] Do I bring my kitty litter for my cat?
[A] No, we provide clumping clay cat litter. If your cat requires
a special litter other than the clumping clay litter, it will be
necessary for you to provide your
own.
[Q] Will my pet's medications be maintained?
[A] Absolutely! Please provide written instructions.
[Q] Does my pet need a collar?
[A] We prefer that your pet have a collar on during their stay.
However, we ask that it be a buckle collar rather than a pinch,
choke, or harness.
[Q] How much exercise will my pet have?
[A] Please see our schedule under the services tab. There are two
yards in a fenced exercise area that is approximately one acre for
the dogs to enjoy.
Cats have a large activity room in
which they are let out to play with access to a secured window and
cat condo.
[Q] Can my dog socialize with other dogs while
at the kennel?
[A] That is at your discretion with written permission. Prairie
Rose Boarding Kennels assumes no responsibility for injury, loss
or damage sustained. We will, of course,
at all times exercise due diligence, care, and caution.
[Q] Do you walk the dogs?
[A] No, we offer two large fully fenced yards for your pets to enjoy
off-leash playtime.
[Q] How high is the fence?
[A] The fence is securely mounted and 7 feet high with an additional
2 foot overhang for extra security. The perimeter is reinforced
with concrete to prevent the possibility
of tunneling out.
[Q] Will you feed a "raw" diet?
[A] Yes. We have a freezer on site and will feed your pet as per
your instructions. We are also distributors of Legacy Pet Food products.
[Q] Do you sell pet food or treats?
[A] We offer a full line of natural treats as well as distribute
Acana, Orijen, and Legacy Pet Food products.
[Q] What vaccines does my pet require?
[A] All dogs are required to have their DHPP and rabies. Bordatella
is optional. Cats require Viral Rhinotracheitis (FVR), Calicivirus
(FCV), Panleukopenia (FPL) and rabies.
Please bring a copy of your pet's
current vaccination certificate from your veterinarian. **Please
Note** Check with your vet regarding
timeframe recommended between vaccination and boarding.
[Q] Are grooming services available?
[A] Yes. A full line of grooming services is available upon request
and by appointment.
[Q] How large are the kennels?
[A] There are three different sizes; 46" x 84", 42"
x 72", and 60" x 108".
[Q] Does the information I provide go to parties
outside of Prairie Rose Boarding Kennels?
[A] Absolutely not! Any information you provide is confidential
and protected to fullest extent possible. We will not distribute
client information to third parties
without prior written consent by the client. The only exception
to this policy is if your pet were to require
the services of a veterinarian and that veterinarian required the
information on file to properly care for your pet.
